Wolverine TV: Is Michigan an early contender for Top 100 LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng?
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the latest on Top 100 2025 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng.
Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting above.
Recruitment of Owusu-Boateng
Michigan is making Owusu-Boateng one of its top overall priorities at the linebacker position in the 2025 recruiting class.
Here is what Holland had to say about where the Wolverines stand:
“I had a chance to see him a couple of weeks ago when IMG played in New Jersey,” Holland said. “He was extremely impressive. He’s a long, athletic backer who is a perfect fit for the scheme. There is a bit of a connection here. (Michigan defensive line coach) Mike Elston actually recruited and coached his older brother at Notre Dame. Elston is familiar with Owusu-Boateng and his family. Chris Partridge, Michigan’s new linebackers coach, has been making him a top overall priority for next cycle. They’ve been in constant contact. Owusu-Boateng is originally from the DMV, and Michigan was on him early. I believe they offered him two years ago, so there is familiarity with the program. While he has yet to make a visit, Owusu-Boateng hasn’t checked out many other schools, and he did tell me he plans to make his first visit to Michigan at some point soon.”
Owusu-Boateng is the younger brother of Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
Along with Michigan, Owusu-Boateng holds offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, USC and others.
At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Owusu-Boateng is ranked as the No. 3 linebacker and No. 27 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Florida for next cycle.
Michigan currently has three commitments in its 2025 recruiting class — Top 100 Miami (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna defensive back Chris Ewald, four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka and three-star Buford (Ga.) High linebacker Mantrez Walker. The class is ranked No. 7 nationally, per the On3 Industry team recruiting rankings.
