Wolverine TV: Is Michigan still a contender for five-star QB Bryce Underwood?
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland answered several questions from viewers on the Wednesday night Michigan recruiting show and talked about the latest with five-star 2025 QB Bryce Underwood.
Watch the show replay above.
Underwood Recruitment
Underwood released a top schools list of Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State in November and is now set to make his decision this weekend.
This recruitment has long been considered an LSU-Michigan recruiting battle. Michigan has hosted Underwood for more visits than any other program, while LSU made a strong impression on his unofficial visit to Baton Rouge this fall.
LSU currently leads on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 91.7 percent chance of landing him, but Michigan is still working on him ahead of his announcement.
Here is what Holland had to say about the situation.
“Nothing has really changed,” Holland said. “It seems like LSU has full confidence. I haven’t had any real reason to get optimistic about this recruitment. Michigan has continued to work on Underwood and keep in contact with him and his family. But right now, all signs still point to LSU. Obviously, he made the visit to Alabama right before the dead period. The Crimson Tide are ones to watch. You can never count out Nick Saban on the recruiting trail. You can on the field after Michigan’s Rose Bowl win. But I’m not sure the Rose Bowl win was enough to move the needle here.”
At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Underwood is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 1 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
