Wolverine TV: Jim Harbaugh reacts to Michigan win over Rutgers
Michigan Wolverines football head coach Jim Harbaugh met with the media following his team’s 52-17 win over Rutgers Saturday night in Piscataway.
The Maize and Blue trailed 17-14 at halftime but had a huge third quarter in which they outscored the Scarlet Knights, 28-0, to pull away. The Wolverines used three third-quarter interceptions — two by Michael Barrett, including one pick six, and one from freshman cornerback Will Johnson — to take control of the game.
Harbaugh discussed his team’s mentality at halftime and how it came out and dominated the second half, quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s mentality and more. McCarthy completed 13 of his 27 pass attempts for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Maize and Blue offense scored 6 touchdowns on 7 red zone trips, a big improvement after setting for 5 field goals a week ago against Michigan State.
The Wolverines are now 9-0 and undefeated heading into next week’s tilt against Nebraska. Game time was announced for 3:30 p.m. ET at The Big House.
Here’s what Harbaugh had to say after Michigan’s win.
