ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines basketball head coach Juwan Howard, freshman guard Jett Howard, sophomore guard Kobe Bufkin and graduate guard Joey Baker met with the media following the team’s 77-69 win over Ohio State Sunday afternoon at Crisler Center.

Michigan’s big win over Ohio State marks two victories in a row for first time since early January

Michigan has now won two games in a row — not a huge feat, but it’s progress after having lost five of seven before beating Northwestern and Ohio State back to back. The Maize and Blue hadn’t won two in a row since Jan. 1 and Jan. 4 against Maryland and Penn State, respectively.

Desperation is hard to manufacture, but Michigan doesn’t have to at this point. Baker discussed how having their backs against the wall is driving the Wolverines now that they’re in February and have a lot of ground to make up to earn a seventh straight NCAA Tournament bid.

Michigan now takes on Nebraska Wednesday at Crisler, before hosting Indiana Saturday. Two more wins this week would put the Wolverines five games over .500 and in the hunt for a bid heading into a Tuesday matchup at Wisconsin.
