Robinson Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Robinson last week as it looks to add to a wide receiver room in need of immediate help.
Robinson has quickly become one of the hottest names in the portal. Along with Michigan, the talented pass catcher has notched offers from Auburn, Cal, Florida State, UCLA, USC and others.
Robinson made his first visit to USC this week and is set to be at UCLA today. Michigan is hoping to get him on campus soon.
Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.
“Robinson is one of the best wide receivers available in the portal,” Holland said. “Michigan had a rough week at the position as it lost David Pantelis to Stanford and ran into a credits issue with Skyler Bell. The Wolverines have a big need at the position, and Robinson has ascended to the top of the board. Michigan has some strong ties here, which should help them in this race. However, Michigan needs to get him to campus soon as he’s already making visits to USC and UCLA.”
Robinson’s agent is Billy Davis of FOA Sports. The Wolverines have familiarity working with Davis as they landed one of his clients earlier this portal cycle — Indiana wide receiver transfer Donaven McCulley.

Robinson was part of the same 2021 UCF recruiting class (he was a JUCO prospect at the time) as U-M quarterback Mikey Keene. New Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey crossed paths with Robinson at UCF. They weren’t together long, but there is familiarity there.
Robinson recorded 53 receptions for 840 yards and two touchdowns this season. He will have one more year of eligibility remaining.
Michigan has landed 10 players out of the transfer portal — quarterback Mikey Keene (Fresno State), running back Justice Haynes (Alabama), linebacker Troy Bowles (Georgia), wide receiver Donaven McCulley (Indiana), offensive lineman Lawrence Hattar (Ferris State), offensive lineman Brady Norton (Cal Poly), cornerback Tevis Metcalf (Arkansas), safety TJ Metcalf (Arkansas), defensive lineman Tre Williams (Clemson) and defensive tackle Damon Payne Jr. (Alabama).
Michigan has the No. 1 ranked transfer portal class in the Big Ten and No. 5 nationally, per the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index. The Wolverines currently sit behind Miami, Missouri, Ole Miss and Texas Tech.
