ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football offensive coordinator and line coach Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter met with the media on the final week of spring practices and ahead of the team’s intrasquad game Saturday at The Big House.

Moore is now Michigan’s sole offensive coordinator, after being a co-coordinator the last two seasons, most recently with Matt Weiss, who was fired this offseason. He has more responsibility in terms of the entire offense but is still in charge of the line as well, which could be tough to balance.

“As far as the play calling duties last year, I’m not going to talk about the specifics, so good try” Moore said with a laugh in response to a question. “I was a part of the play calling last year. But this year, I have a great staff — first of all — that I work with. [Quarterbacks] Coach [Kirk] Campbell, [tight ends] Coach [Grant] Newsome, [running backs and run game coordinator] Coach [Mike] Hart, [wide receivers] Coach [Ron] Bellamy, all the GAs, all the analysts. I have an incredible group of guys that are all working in the same line, in the same vision to help us win championships, beat Ohio State, beat Michigan State, beat Penn State, win the Big Ten and the end goal. We’re all working on the same vision to do that.”

Minter, meanwhile, is in his second season at Michigan, providing a high level of continuity for the defense.

“It’s just a whole ‘nother level of familiarity with the guys, with how we operate here, with how Coach runs spring,” Minter said of his second spring. “Just tremendous cohesiveness. Everybody understands each other’s expectations — they understand my expectations, I understand Coach Harbaugh’s expectations, I understand the players’ expectations. Just a really good level of that.”
