Wolverine TV: Michigan WR commits Semaj Morgan, Fredrick Moore make plays at Pylon 7v7 nationals
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was in Chicagoland for Pylon 7v7 nationals and saw two Michigan commits in action — three-star wide receivers Semaj Morgan and Fredrick Moore.
Morgan suited up for Long Beach-based Team TOA and helped lead the program to the tournament championship. On the flip side of the coin, Moore played for Midwest Boom and was a part of the team’s run to the title game.
Pylon is the nation’s premier club 7v7 tournament circuit. The Pylon championship series has seen more than 3,200 Division I athletes compete on its biggest stage since its inception in 2006, including Michigan players like JJ McCarthy, Junior Colson, Will Johnson, Tyler Morris, Damani Dent, Alex Orji and more.
Morgan committed to Michigan over offers from Maryland, Ole Miss, Purdue and others back in December and has remained locked in with the Wolverines. Morgan visited Michigan on multiple occasions this summer and has been a vocal leader for U-M this cycle.
At 5-foot-9, 178 pounds, the West Bloomfield (Mich.) High product is ranked as the No. 74 wide receiver and No. 506 overall prospect nationally this cycle, per the On3 Consensus.
Moore is one of Michigan’s newest commits. The St. Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter Prep prospect picked Michigan over finalists Michigan State and Illinois on Friday. He also held scholarships from Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and others.
At 6-foot, 180 pounds, Moore is ranked as the No. 82 wide receiver and No. 546 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Consensus.
