Wolverine TV: Top in-state OL target Khalief Canty talks Michigan, Sherrone Moore, visits
The Wolverine recently stopped by Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech to meet up with top 2026 in-state Michigan offensive line target Khalief Canty.
Watch the full Q&A above.
Canty Recruitment
Michigan was the third Division I school to issue an offer to Canty back in January of last year. He’s since been to Ann Arbor on four unofficial visits, including in late July for the annual BBQ at The Big House.
“They are a family,” Canty told The Wolverine. “If you see one person doing something, everybody is doing it. They’re a really good team. They’re not just a regular team. They’re a really good team.
“Really, just the atmosphere, how they run the ball, their alignment, getting people out the way, and opening up gaps for the running backs. How they’re all just really built. They look really athletic. I can tell. They’re fast, strong. They’re good at everything, for real.”
Michigan has an early lead for Canty on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). With Sherrone Moore elevated as head coach, Canty looks forward to seeing how the former offensive line coach instills his own philosophies into the program.
“I feel like the program will get more physical,” Canty said. “I feel like he’s a physical coach. He doesn’t really show it, but I feel like he’s a physical coach. I feel like he’s like a tough dad (laughs). He’s pushing his players that he knows that can do it, just like Coach (David) Dawson is pushing me (because) he knows I can do it.”
Along with Michigan, Canty currently holds notable offers from Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, Auburn, Penn State, Colorado, Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, and others.
