Howard Recruitment
Michigan was making Howard a top priority on the running back board under former running backs coach Mike Hart.
The Wolverines hosted him for an unofficial visit last offseason and made a big move in his recruitment.
“It was a great visit overall,” Howard said. “The thing that impressed me the most was their workout program and how everybody gained a lot of weight. The campus was great. There were some little kids on a tour, and they all wanted to take pictures with me. It was a great atmosphere.”’
With Hart gone, it is unclear what direction Michigan will go at running back. However, Howard is excited about new running backs coach Tony Alford.
“That’s a great coach,” Howard said. “He produced a lot of 1,000-yard running backs, and I would like to be one of those backs.”
Howard is set to make an unofficial visit to Michigan for the annual spring game on April 20. He will also return to Ann Arbor for an official visit on June 7.

“I want to see how the offensive line blocks and how everything sets up in the run game,” Howard said. “I want to see how the coaches coach in person. I saw how they used Donovan Edwards last year. I want to see more of that and get into the meetings.”
