The Wolverine recently stopped by Belleville (Mich.) High to meet up with top 2025 in-state Michigan defensive back target Elijah Dotson.

Watch the full Q&A above.

Dotson Recruitment

Dotson was offered by former Michigan co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale this past May. Over the year, Dotson has been to Ann Arbor on four unofficial visits, including two for games, most recently for the win over Ohio State in late November.

“It was crazy to be able to see the game in person,” Dotson said. “It’s like the most hyped game in college, so seeing it was crazy. (Rod Moore) just went up and got it. Will Johnson played great, too, and it was great for them to make plays. The DBs just played overall against some of the best receivers in college.”

Michigan currently leads for Dotson on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). With a new staff under head coach Sherrone Moore, Dotson is eyeing another return to Ann Arbor during spring camp practice.

“It’s my hometown (team), and everyone loves Michigan football,” Dotson said. “I feel like they’re the best team in the country. Why not? So, they’re still up there on my list, for sure. “I talked to (Moore) a couple of times when I was up there, but not too much. But I think it was great (he got promoted). I think it’ll be the same there.”

Along with Michigan, Dotson currently holds other notable offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, Purdue, Illinois, Pitt, Indiana, Louisville, Kansas, Marshall, and others.
