Howard Recruitment
Howard is scheduled to return to Michigan on April 20 for the spring game. He’s also told The Wolverine that a June official visit is in the works.
Despite the reigning national champions searching for a new running backs coach following the departure of Mike Hart, Howard said the news doesn’t change his interest in Michigan.
Here’s what Holland had to say about the situation.
“He still loves the program and Howard’s been a guy who hasn’t been shy about saying that Michigan is in the lead in his recruitment,” Holland said. “He did have a good relationship with Hart, but he’s very much looking forward to see who Michigan brings in. The reason why Michigan is so high on his list is because they obviously run the ball a ton. That’s something that’s really appealing to Howard. He’s from the DMV and he’s actually really close with Blake Corum. They had the chance to spend some time (together) on his previous visit. So, I think Michigan’s still in good shape here. He’s a guy who’s kind of in the same mold as a Cole Cabana or Micah Ka’apana in terms of being an all-purpose back who can catch out of the backfield.”
At 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Iverson is listed as the No. 276 overall prospect and No. 24 running back in the country, according to On3. He’s also the No. 7 recruit in Maryland.
