The Wolverine’s EJ Holland attended the Rocky Top 7v7 tournament in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and the Under Armour Atlanta camp in Carrollton, Georgia last weekend.

Holland shares his thoughts on On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back and Michigan commit Jacob Oden as well as several top targets, including Top 100 Lawrenceville (Ga.) Mountain View EDGE Justin Greene, On300 Belleville (Mich.) High linebacker Jeremiah Beasley and four-star Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor tight end Max LeBlanc.

Oden committed to Michigan after two unofficial visits in January. He is the son of former Michigan walk-on fullback Rod Oden.

“Michigan is a great school and a great program,” Oden told The Wolverine. “They’ve done everything right with me. Just a great coaching staff and all of that. It’s cool with them for me. They kept doing their thing this (past) year. They have the attitude to win a national championship.”

Oden is ranked as the No. 14 safety and No. 165 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit in the state of Michigan.

Oden has an On3 NIL Valuation of $94K with 7K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan has seven commits in its 2024 recruiting class — On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, four-star Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, three-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zachary Ludwig.

The class is currently ranked No. 12 nationally in the On3 Consensus rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Michigan State.
