The Wolverine’s EJ Holland recently made his way to Richmond, Virginia to watch Top 100 Michigan cornerback target Shamari Earls, who is currently committed to South Carolina, at a private workout.

Watch the full clips from his training session in the video above.

Earls Recruitment

Earls committed to South Carolina in the spring. However, the Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale is leaving the door open for a handful of other programs.

Earls made an unofficial visit to Michigan in June and followed that up with an official visit to Georgia.

New Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan offered Earls soon after arriving in Ann Arbor and made his way to Virginia to visit with Earls and his father during the spring evaluation period. The meeting really moved the needle and solidified Michigan as a team to watch in this recruitment.

Here is what Holland had to say about U-M’s pursuit of Earls.

“LaMar Morgan went out to see him at the end of the spring evaluation period and had a meeting with him and his father,” Holland said. “Michigan is in the picture for Shamari Earls. He made an unofficial visit in June. I think Michigan has worked its way back in here. He is really looking hard at both Georgia and Michigan. Georgia is considered the leader, but Michigan is doing everything they can to land him.”
