The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was recently in the Dallas-area seeing Top 100 2026 Michigan running back target Javian Osborne at a private workout.

Osborne Recruitment

Michigan extended an offer to Osborne back in February when area recruiter, JB Brown, made a swing through the Dallas-area during the winter contact period.

U-M running backs coach Tony Alford took over this recruitment once he was officially hired. Since then, Alford has built a strong relationship with Osborne. Alford visited Osborne at Forney (Texas) High last month and saw him in game action.

Osborne visited Michigan twice this fall, including last month for the game against Oregon. The Wolverines have been building steam in this recruitment.

Here is what Holland had to say about Osborne.

“Javian is a dynamic and explosive back,” Holland said. “He has the power to run between the tackles, but he often wins with his speed. He runs in the 10.7’s in the 100-meter and can be a dynamic weapon at a place like Michigan, which likes to feed its backs. Osborne likens his game to Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who has the nickname Sonic. That’s a great way to describe Osborne. Michigan hosted him twice this fall and is starting to gain some good momentum in his recruitment. Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford has done a fantastic job of recruiting him over the last several months.”
