The Wolverine’s EJ Holland and Zach Libby discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Tuesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including the recent commitment of Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis.

Watch and listen to Holland and Libby share the latest on U-M recruiting below.

Davis committed to Michigan over fellow finalists Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee live on ESPN’s SportsCenter last week.

Davis was the clear-cut No. 1 option at quarterback for the Wolverines this cycle. Both head coach Jim Harbaugh and new quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell pushed hard to seal the deal on his unofficial visit last month and sealed the deal.

Now, the Wolverines have their quarterback of the future.

“I do have (Davis) graded in the same way as On3, probably the No. 105 overall prospect in the country,” Holland said. “I think Jadyn does have some limitations in terms of height. He is about 6-foot and a half. He’s also not a true mobile quarterback. But at the same time, he fits what Michigan does. He has a great command of his high school offense, which is more pro-style and similar to what Michigan does. He has great leadership ability, great poise in the pocket, great footwork and adequate arm strength.

“If you are picking a destination based on fit, I think Davis picked a good destination in Michigan. I think he can do very, very well at Michigan. I feel like people get caught up in the five-star vs. the No. 105 ranking.”

At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Davis is ranked as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 26 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of North Carolina.

Davis has an On3 NIL Valuation of $557K with 36K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan now has 10 commits in its 2024 recruiting class — Top 100 Charlotte (N.C.)
