Wolverine TV: Where Michigan stands with Top 100 RB Taylor Tatum
Michigan is looking at just a handful of recruits during the late period as the 2023 recruiting class comes to a close. Now, the Wolverines are starting to turn the page to the 2024 recruiting class.
One of Michigan’s top priorities on the offensive side of the ball for next cycle is Top 100 Longview (Texas) High running back Taylor Tatum, who is on campus for a weekend visit.
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland takes a closer look at Tatum and breaks down his recruitment in this week’s Recruit of the Week segment.
Watch below.
Tatum notched an offer from Michigan last month and is very high on the Wolverines.
“That offer meant a lot to me,” Tatum said. “Michigan is a high-profile school, and they are making the College Football Playoff consistently now. Coach (Mike) Hart said Coach (Jim) Harbaugh liked my film a lot, which was a blessing. It’s cool knowing that if I were to go to Michigan, I would play for Coach Hart, who had a lot of accolades and got a contract at the next level.”
Along with Michigan, Tatum holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and others.

At 5-foot-10, 105 pounds, Tatum is ranked as the No. 2 running back and No. 36 overall prospect nationally, per On3.
Tatum has an On3 NIL Valuation of $57K with 4.4K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Michigan has five commits in its 2024 recruiting class — On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, Consensus four-star Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen and three-star defensive linemen Manuel Beigel and Ted Hammond.
