Wolverine TV: Will Michigan's first official visit weekend produce any commits?
The Wolverine’s EJ Holland discussed several Michigan recruiting topics on the Wednesday edition of The Wolverine Live recruiting show, including a preview of U-M’s first June official visit weekend.
Watch and listen to Holland share the latest on Michigan recruiting below.
Michigan is set to host On300 Austintown (Ohio) Fitch EDGE Brian Robinson, On300 West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade safety Marquis Gallegos, four-star Cheshire (Conn.) Academy EDGE Jacob Smith and four-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day wide receiver Jordan Shipp.
Here is what Holland had to say about U-M’s chances of coming away with a commitment.
“I’m really interested to see how this one goes,” Holland said. “Jacob Smith still has official visits scheduled to Kentucky and Nebraska. But with Jerod (Smith) already committed and coming in for an unofficial visit — Jerod will make his own OV on June 23 — I think there is a chance they can get Jacob to commit and maybe not go on those last two OVs… Brian Robinson, like I said, has been a long-time lean. He needs to lock up his spot now because those EDGE spots could be flying off the board soon.
“I do think there is a chance with (Shipp), but he is scheduled to make an OV to NC State next weekend. Marquis Gallegos is the mysterious guy of the weekend. No real gauge on where Michigan stands in that recruitment right now. I think we’ll learn a lot more following this official visit.”
