Former Michigan Wolverines football wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is on the move. The fourth-year pro has been moved from the Cleveland Browns to the Detroit Lions ahead of the trade deadline.

Peoples-Jones was having an underwhelming season for the Browns. He’s been targeted 18 times with 8 catches for 97 yards, ranking fifth on the team in receiving yards. The Lions received a fifth-round pick in exchange for Peoples-Jones.

The former Michigan wideout, a Detroit native, had a breakout season a year ago and has been productive throughout his career. In 2022, he caught 61 passes for 839 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Former Michigan defensive end Rashan Gary, meanwhile, will not be a free agent this coming offseason. He signed his monster contract extension, a four-year $96 million deal with a $34.6 million signing bonus. His new $24 million annual value places fifth among NFL edge rushers.

“All I can say is it’s a blessing,” Gary said. “I want to thank my higher power. I want to thank all my loved ones. Everybody knows the role they play in my life. I want to thank this organization, everybody that believed in me. I’m just trying to get to work. That’s me. I’m just trying to get to work. I already put the pen to the paper and we’ve got the Rams on Sunday, so my mind is on the Rams on Sunday.”
