2026 receiver Aiden Knox drawing Mississippi State interest
2026 receiver Aiden Knox and his Clinton High School teammates entered this season hungry to atone for last year’s disappointment. And it only took Knox and company one week to match last year’s win total.
Last season as a sophomore, the On3 three-star prospect only witnessed one victory all season. But in Clinton’s season opener, they matched that win total thanks to a 26-20 victory over Warren Central.
“This offseason I worked a lot on my routes,” Knox remarked. “I’m making sure I can help my team out more this season and we got to have a comeback from last season. We are just trying to get right and we had mistakes last year, finishing just 1-9. But we have a new coach this year and we are doing more passing.”
On the recruiting scene, Knox is rated as the nation’s No. 35 receiver and the state’s No. 11 prospect by On3 rankings. He currently holds a trio of Division 1 offers, including a Big 10 offer, along with SEC interest from an instate program.
“I have offers from Penn State, Georgia State and Toledo,” mentioned Knox. “Mississippi State is showing interest, too, and they’ve been showing love the past few weeks. I have the numbers for some of their coaches and it’s been good with them.”
During the spring and summer months, Knox took in a few unofficial visits and made a couple of camp stops, as well. He noted of those visits, which included a couple of trips to Starkville.
“This summer I went to camps at Georgia and Mississippi State,” recalled the 6-foot and 165-pound Knox. “In the spring I went to Mississippi State’s practice and I also visited Georgia, Georgia State and Toledo.”

Regarding his camp appearance at State, Knox enjoyed his time in drills with receivers coach Chad Bumphis. Naturally, Knox was able to get a better view of the Bulldogs’ program. But he also exited that camp showing with more knowledge about the receiver position due to Bumphis’ coaching.
“I had fun at their camp,” Knox added. “I got better there and I love the way Coach Bump coaches. He helped me with my breaks and stuff, and he helped me with my routes, too.”
Looking ahead to the fall, Knox hopes to several more schools and take in more game-day atmospheres at various college. And that includes a return trip to see Mississippi State under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby.
“I plan to go see Mississippi State this season, too, and I will be there Saturday,” noted Knox. “I am also going to Ole Miss, Toledo, Kentucky and Louisville. Those are the ones I know I am going to see this season.”
