REPORT: Baylor quarterback Blake Shapen transferring to Mississippi State
Per Pete Thamel of ESPN, Mississippi State has added its first transfer to the 2024 roster. Thamel reported Friday night that former Baylor transfer quarterback Blake Shapen has committed to the Bulldogs and head coach Jeff Lebby, as Shapen told Thamel.
The Shreveport, La., native started 23 career games during his career Baylor, including eight starts in the 2023 season. In that 2023 campaign, the 6-foot and 205-pound Shapen completed 184 of 298 passes (61.7%) for 2,188 yards with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions in eight games played (missed last four games due to injury). Shapen, who has one season of eligibility, also rushed for four touchdowns this past season.
