Bulldogs' quarterback woes continue against Crimson Tide

It has been 16 years since Mississippi State University’s last win over the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Since then, the Bulldogs have come close, but Bama still leads the all-time series 86-18, with three ties.
A history of Dog Days
There has been one constant throughout all 16 straight losses, though, and that is the quarterback play. Even Dak Prescott was not saved from the unnatural phenomena that Bulldog fans have come to grow accustomed to.
Prescott had a combined 630 yards through the air on 53/97 attempts against Alabama in his career, but tossed only three touchdowns to four interceptions. MSU’s current signal caller, however, has had it far worse than that.
Will Rogers’ career numbers against the Tide are the worst of the senior quarterback’s numbers against any other SEC team. Rogers has thrown for one touchdown (a 1-yard throw to Jeffery Pittman on Saturday) and eight picks against Alabama, the worst mark of his career against any SEC team.
Rogers’ next play
Rogers’ night began to spiral after a first half interception that put the Tide up by 21 points headed into the break, which was his second pick of the night after a surrendering a pick-six early on. The MSU signal caller said after the game, though, that he was glad to know his teammates had his back.

“It (was) definitely a tough play,” said Rogers. “You know, (we were) just trying to score points before halftime and you end up giving them seven again. So it was definitely tough to bounce back from that, but I’m thankful to have great teammates around me to lift me up after things like that happen.”
MSU’s quarterback play will have to improve if the Bulldogs want to compete in the SEC West, especially in the coming years.
Now, on a three game losing skid, MSU will have a chance to fine tune some things with Western Michigan visiting next Saturday.
