Former Eastern Michigan transfer offensive lineman Carson Lee details Mississippi State decision
Mississippi State’s hot streak in the transfer portal continued Sunday evening with the Bulldogs adding their third transfer of the day. The latest addition is former Eastern Michigan center and graduate transfer Carson Lee.
The Greenwood Village, Colo., native officially visited Mississippi State on Sunday and a few hours later he announced his decision via social media. The Bulldogs have also added transfer offensive linemen in Koby Keenum (Kentucky) and Jesse Ramil (James Madison) this month.
“The thing that stood out the most was all of the resources that are available to us as student-athletes,” explained the 6-foot-2 and 307-pound Lee. “They have put everything in place to ensure we have as much success as possible.”
Lee began his college career at Colorado before transferring to Eastern Michigan. He was a two-year starter at Eastern Michigan and said he felt at home in Starkville during his visit.
“I am from a small town in western Colorado,” noted Lee. “Driving around town and the community made me feel at home.”
During his time at Eastern Michigan, Lee lined up at center, right guard and left guard. For the Bulldogs, he discussed his position with head coach Jeff Lebby and offensive line coach Cody Kennedy during his official visit.

“The plan is for me to play center,” Lee remarked. “I love and trust both Coach Lebby and Coach Kennedy and their plans for the team and myself. The fact that both of them are OL guys was also a huge part of my decision.
Since entering the transfer portal, Lee also collected offers from South Carolina, California, Stanford, Purdue and UNLV among others. He also officially visited California earlier this weekend.
With his decision made, Lee now looks forward to enrolling in January and helping the Bulldogs return to their winning ways.
“To be apart of bringing Miss State back to a winning program while playing against the best players in the country week in and week out was an opportunity I could not pass up,” mentioned Lee.
