Top-25 Chris Cenac Talks Early LSU, SMU, Mississippi State offers
Chris Cenac jumped to No. 23 in the latest 2025 On3 150 update. The 6-foot-10 forward from New Orleans (LA) Isadore Newman was one of 84 players participating in last weekend’s USA Basketball Junior National Team October Minicamp. This was Cenac’s first time with the USA Basketball program.
“I’m a versatile, inside and out forward,” Cenac told On3. “I watch a lot of Anthony Davis, how he impacts a game, his versatility.”
Cenac played this summer with the LivOn program on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. During Nike’s Peach Jam week, the four-star played up at the 17U level and averaged 10.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks.
On3 caught up with Chris Cenac at the recent USA Basketball Junior Minicamp to get the latest on his recruitment.
“I recently took an unofficial to LSU,” Cenac said. “I just got an offer from Mississippi State. There are a lot of SEC schools talking with me right now, and SMU too.”
Cenac Talks Schools
LSU: “The coaching staff showed a lot of love, and the team showed a lot of love, too. They have a great campus, it’s big. It felt like a nice place to be, everything about it. The environment for the game was great, the fans and everything. It was a great place to be.”

Mississippi State: “They have been interested for a while. They came to my practice, and the conversation was great. They told me how much they liked me and offered. They’re newer, so I’m still talking with them and getting to know them, building our relationship. Coach (Chris) Jans is new there, and they’re building. I’m trying to set up a visit with them soon.”
SMU: “They check in with me every day. We talk a lot; they’re trying to get to know me and build that with me. They just moved to the ACC, and they’re one of the only ACC schools really recruiting me right now. They’re doing some good things over there.”
“Tennesse and Texas are two schools that haven’t offered yet, but we are hearing from them,” Cenac said.
In Cenac’s Words
“One main thing I’m looking for in a school is relationships,” Chris Cenac said. “I think having a great relationship with the coaching staff and the head coach matters a lot. I’ll want to go into a situation where I can earn the opportunity to play early. I don’t want to get thrown into the center position going into college. I want to be able to play more freely, use my versatility, and continue to develop.”
