Mississippi State quarterback Chris Parson announces plans to enter transfer portal
Mississippi State redshirt freshman quarterback Chris Parson announced his plans to transfer on Monday. The former On3 four-star prospect becomes fourth Bulldog on the current roster to announce their plans to exit the program.
Also on Monday, former Bulldog running back Jeffery Pittman announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal. Pittman played for the Bulldogs in 2023 after two years of junior college but was dismissed from the program prior to the 2024 season.
Other Bulldogs to enter the transfer portal include receivers Creed Whittemore, JJ Harrell and Trent Hudson.

Parson was a highly-touted member of the Class of 2023 and originally signed with former State head coach and the late Mike Leach. As a true freshman in 2023, the Ravenwood (Tenn.) High School product played in two games, including his first and only start that season against Texas A&M. In 2023, Parson completed 11 of 26 passes for 103 yards with three interceptions and had nine rushes for -9 yards.
This past season, his redshirt freshman campaign, Parson played in four games and had eight carries for 31 yards. He also attempted two passes this past season.
The transfer portal officially opens on December 9th.
