2025 signee Davian Jackson nearing Mississippi State arrival

2025 Mississippi State signee Davian Jackson wrapped up his gridiron prep career with a solid senior campaign at Westgate (La.) High School, producing over 1,200 yards of total offense.
This spring the On3 three-star receiver continued to find success on the track and field circuit, as well.
“I’ve been working on my game and I’ve been running track,” Jackson explained. “It was a good track season, too. I qualified for the state track meet in the 100 meters, the 4×2 and the 4×1 relays. So I’ve been doing well and just preparing for Mississippi State.”
Regarding his football routine, Jackson has kept a steady schedule and has trained the past few months at his position. He has focused on a few aspects of the receiver position and wants to make sure everything is fine-tuned before reaching Mississippi State.
“At receiver, I’ve been working on my hands a lot,” added the 6-foot-2 and 185-pound Jackson. “I’ve been working on my routes, too, and making them better. But the main thing is improving my hands.”
Jackson is set to make the move to Starkville next week and then begin summer school and offseason workouts with his new Bulldog teammates. Of late, his future coaches have handed down advice on what to expect in his new chapter on the gridiron.
“The State coaches have been saying they are ready for me to get there,” Jackson remarked. “Coach (Cliff) Odom came down to see me not long ago and he is excited for me to get there. I’ve been talking to the coaches a lot about the schemes and the motions and installs for the offense. I want to get ahead early so I can be straight when I get here.”

And when workouts begin, Jackson has a couple of things on his to-do list and that still focuses on his hands. Entering the physical SEC, Jackson realizes his work in the weight room will be top priority.
“This summer I want to get stronger and faster,” noted Jackson. “I really have to get my hands stronger because that is a weakness I have. I just want to get on the field as soon as possible to help our team any way I can and to show that Hail State is one of the best places to play in the country.”
Of course, off the field Jackson also intends to start the bonding process with his offensive mates. That includes getting with the Bulldog quarterback this summer in order to get extra work in outside of normal team workouts.
“When I get there a big focus for me will be the playbook,” Jackson mentioned. “They want me at the outside receiver spot so I want to learn as much as I can. I want to get comfortable with the quarterbacks and see where I can fit in the offense.”
