Utah State transfer running back Davon Booth commits to Mississippi State
Mississippi State’s search for a transfer running back had a few interesting twists and turns. But on Tuesday that search ended with the commitment of Utah State transfer Davon Booth, who announced his Bulldog decision on social media.
The 5-foot-10 and 205-pound Booth officially visited Mississippi State on Monday and Tuesday, and opted to make his decision before leaving campus. Booth has one year of eligibility remaining and is a former juco transfer, as well.
Last season at Utah State, the Las Vegas, Nevada, native led Utah State with 120 carries for 805 yards (6.7 yards per carry) and six touchdowns. Booth also had 12 catches for 50 yards last season. Booth took an official visit to Kansas State last week, as well, before taking his final visit to Starkville.
Earlier this month, Mississippi State received a commitment from former Miami of Ohio transfer running back Rashad Amos. However, Amos eventually had a change of heart and ended up switching his commitment from Mississippi State to Colorado last week.
While the spring transfer portal window closes on Tuesday, players can still enter the transfer portal as long as their paperwork process has begun before Tuesday evening’s deadline. Graduate transfers have until Wednesday to begin their paperwork process to enter the spring transfer portal.
