Memphis transfer cornerback DeAgo Brumfield commits to Mississippi State
The spring transfer portal windown officially opened on Tuesday and there’s already been plenty of activity for Mississippi State on both sides of the equation. On Saturday the Bulldogs added another transfer in the spring period with the addition of Memphis defensive back DeAgo Brumfield.
The 6-foot and 190-pund Brumfield announced his transfer intentions on Saturday to Mississippi State after entering the transfer portal earlier this week. The Ohio native began his college career at Campbellsville University before starting for Memphis last season at cornerback. Last season Brumfield totaled 42 tackles with three tackles for loss and a team-best 10 PBUs.
Brumfield is the second addition for State from Memphis this season, joining freshman cornerback Tre Wright who enrolled back in January. Brumfield has one season of eligibility remaining.
Last week saw the Bulldogs collect their first spring transfer in former Miami of Ohio running back Rashad Amos. On Saturday following the spring game, Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby said the Bulldogs want to add a cornerback, edge, offensive lineman and another running back from the transfer portal.
