It’s baseball season yet again.

The Major League Baseball season is underway and several former Mississippi State players are doing their thing on baseball’s biggest stage. That includes former State standout Jake Mangum who made his debut with Tampa Bay this year and he has made a major impact.

The State legend is one of 10 former Bulldogs that are active in the league with several more likely in and out this year. A few players made moves in the offseason like Nathaniel Lowe going to Washington and Adam Frazier making his return to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jordan Westburg is back looking to build on his breakthrough season with the Baltimore Orioles while Brent Rooker is hoping to continue his great run with Oakland. State also has veteran arms Kendall Graveman, Brandon Woodruff and JP France working back recovering from injuries last season.

Last week, JT Ginn made his season debut with the Oakland A’s after being called up for the second year in a row. Ginn earned a win as he threw 5.1 innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts against the Mets. At the plate, Frazier hit his first home run of the year, Lowe played in his 700th career game and Mangum had three more stolen bases to get to 7-for-7 on swipes in the first 13 games.
