It’s baseball season yet again.

The Major League Baseball season is underway and several former Mississippi State players are doing their thing on baseball’s biggest stage. That includes former State standout Jake Mangum who made his debut with Tampa Bay this year and he has made a major impact.

The State legend is one of 10 former Bulldogs that are active in the league with several more likely in and out this year. A few players made moves in the offseason like Nathaniel Lowe going to Washington and Adam Frazier making his return to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jordan Westburg is back looking to build on his breakthrough season with the Baltimore Orioles while Brent Rooker is hoping to continue his great run with Oakland. State also has veteran arms Kendall Graveman, Brandon Woodruff and JP France working back recovering from injuries last season.

Last week, Lowe and Rooker had nine hits in six games with three multi-hit games each. Additionally, Rooker hit two more home runs and has six in 22 games. Mangum also had hits in five of the six games and batted .368 while Frazier had hits in the last five games and managed to get three doubles.
