Mississippi State’s offense continued to take positive strides last time out in a 41-31 loss at No. 5 Georgia. This weekend the Bulldogs look to take another step forward and try to snap a i-five-game losing streak when Texas A&M visits Davis Wade Stadium for a 3:15 p.m. kickoff.

Following Tuesday’s practice session, junior offensive guard Jacoby Jackson met with the media to discuss the Aggies’ defense among other topics:

Q: What have you seen lately with the continuity of the offensive line?
Jackson
: Just recently with the recent success, we’ve been trying to get in extra film, get in extra work after practice. Just dial in on different steps. Once again, Coach (Cody) Kennedy really hones in on those specific details and our technique and steps. We’ve been trying to do a better job as a group, holding each other accountable and just focusing in on those details.

Q: How happy are you to be back at Davis Wade Stadium?
Jackson
: Very happy and I am excited to be back at Davis Wade. These three home games are very important, especially this one coming up this Saturday. I can’t wait to be there in Davis Wade on Saturday and I can’t wait to see all of our fans there.

Q: Another stout SEC defensive line this weekend. What have you seen from them?
Jackson
: Elite guys, great pass-rushers. They’re very physical. They play with great leverage. They get their hands inside and they play with high motors. They play with great effort so we got to come with it Saturday. We got to match that effort and once again, hone in on those details and those techniques.

Q: What did you see from Luke Work in his first start?
Jackson
: Great. He did great as a true freshman. Playing at the University of Georgia in your first career start as a true freshman, that’s tough. But he was confident and we just made sure we were communicating. I’m real proud of him because he really stepped up and did a great job out there.

Q: How have you seen Michael Van Buren progress?
Jackson
: Great. As y’all can see this past game, SEC Freshman of the Week. He’s really coming along and becoming a young leader already. His confidence level is steadily going up and just like Luke Work, we’re proud of him, too. We got Mike’s back so I’ve been really glad to see how much he’s progressed.

Q: A little extra juice this weekend playing against Texas A&M?
Jackson
: I wouldn’t say that just because when I was at (Texas) Tech, obviously Big 12 and SEC, we really didn’t play them. I know that’s still like a rivalry for them. But as far as having that extra juice for them, I wouldn’t say that. I just try to be the same every week no matter who we play.
