2025 juco noseguard Jamarcus Moye breaks down Mississippi State decision
2025 defensive lineman Jamarcus Moye got his first look at Mississippi State’s program this weekend via his official visit. And obviously, things went well for the Alabama native as the Tyler (Texas) Junior College product committed to the Bulldogs before exiting his visit.
Moye is expected to be a December graduate and will have two years to play two for the Bulldogs. He also held several G5 offers before getting his State offer this weekend, his first Power 4 offer on the recruiting trail.
“It was great and I enjoyed it,” Moye recalled. “I really love the atmosphere and I love the coaching staff. I like how they treated me and my family. It just felt like home.”
This past season, a sickness kept Moye off the field for several games but in his four games of action, he totaled 19 tackles, three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Interestingly enough, Mississippi State was scouting another player at one of his games and that’s how he got on the Bulldogs’ radar.
“I was at TJC for three years and I only played eight games of high school football,” the 6-foot-4 and 320-pound Moye explained. “I got hurt my sophomore year and was out for the whole season. Then when I came back I only played three games. The game I came back, State was looking at a guard at Trinity Valley and that’s when they saw me and liked me, too.”
Moye began having regular conversations with defensive line coach David Turner early in his sophomore season at Tyler Junior College. And those talks progressed up to this weekend when Moye joined State’s Class and became the
“Coach Turner started recruiting me in Week 3 of the season,” remarked Moye. “We had good conversations along with Lee Wilbanks and Coach Rod Gibson. Those were the guys I mainly stayed in touch with.”

During his stay in Starkville, Moye also gained more insight into State’s program from his time with the players. That included his player host, who is also a former juco transfer.
“My host was Branden Jennings and I like him,” mentioned Moye. “He is from Florida and he told me you got to work every day. He said not to switch up and be the same person you were in juco. He said if I do that then I’ll be fine.”
With his frame, Moye is planning to play noseguard at the next level. And with his decision made, he wants to make the most of his SEC opportunity.
“They want me at noseguard and it’s a good opportunity for me,” Moye noted. “It’s a good chance for me to get my name out there. Plus, Coach Turner has coached a lot of guys and developed a lot of guys. I can gain a lot just being under Coach Turner.”
