2026 receiver Jayden Cration breaks down Mississippi State decision

With each visit to Starkville, Canton High School’s Jayden Cration felt like part of Mississippi State’s program. On Sunday, the 2026 receiver and On3 three-star prospect announced his Bulldog commitment following his official visit.
Cration also holds other Power 4 offers from Ole Miss, LSU, West Virginia and Houston among others. He is rated as the nation’s No. 60 receiver and the state’s No. 14 prospect by On3 rankings.
“It was about family,” Cration explained. “I just always felt like I was at home when I visited them. It was an exciting moment when I committed and everyone was hyped.”
Cration also took in official visits to West Virginia and Houston in the month of June. Regarding this weekend, Cration was able build a tighter bond with State’s players and coaches.
“The visit went great,” recalled the 6-foot-3 and 185-pound Cration. “We got to play a bunch of games and go out with the players. We met with the coaches and we all had a lot of fun.”
Through his time spent with current Bulldogs, Cration was able to take in helpful advice about the program. And being around some of his future teammates ended up being the best part of his weekend.
“I hung around Kamario Taylor, Fluff Boatwell and some other guys,” Cration added. “They were just telling me how it is there and telling me about their practices go. It was good to hear all of that and being with those guys was my favorite part.”

Cration has been a long-time target for receivers coach Chad Bumphis and head coach Jeff Lebby. He felt like a priority this weekend and was welcomed with open arms.
“Before I committed, Coach Bump was just telling me to come on and commit,” noted Cration. “And Coach (Jeff) Lebby talked to me a lot. We talked a lot about life after football and things like that.”
Cration has noted often that he wanted to shut the door on his recruiting process before his senior season begins at Canton High School. He ended up doing just that and is excited about his future in State’s offensive attack.
“It feels great to have my decision done,” mentioned Cration. “I feel good knowing I will be in that type of offense. I know they throw the ball around a lot and that’s gonna be fun.”
