Jordan Mosley talks offense halfway through the year: Q&A
Q: Where do you think this offense is at kind of halfway through the year? How would you assess its performance?
A: So far, I feel like we’re still kind of putting pieces together, but I feel like we’re moving in the right direction. We have a lot of younger guys getting to play a bigger role, so there’s a lot of plays left to be made, so I’m just ready to get out there, get an opportunity and go make them. You know, show everyone that we are an explosive offense.
Q: What’s your confidence level in Mike Wright if Will Rogers doesn’t play against Arkansas?
A: We just have that ‘next man up’ mentality. That’s the way it is around here. When one goes down or someone gets banged up, then it’s next man up. Whether Will plays or not, it’s next man up.
Q: How do things change when there are different quarterbacks in the game for you guys at receiver?
A: Mike brings a dynamic that a lot of SEC quarterbacks don’t have, because I mean, they’re not as fast as Mike. Mike is one of the fastest people on the team, so you expect for him to get out and have a little fun with the ball, but as far as the plays and everything…we still do the same thing.

Q: Who’s winning a foot race between you and Mike?
A: It depends on the day, it depends on the day.
Q: Looking ahead to Arkansas, what are your thoughts on them ahead of making the trip to Fayetteville?
A: I think they’re a great team. Obviously, they haven’t had the success they probably wanted this year. That means they’re hungry, so we’ve got to go out there and be ready. We know it’s a hungry opponent. They have Bama this week, so whether they win or lose they’re going to be hungry. And they probably feel like they could beat us, but that’s what every team probably feels like. If we go out there and we dominate like we have been, we just have to keep on pushing, keep on striving to be better than we were last week.
Q: What do you think of Mike as a passer?
A: I think Mike is a great passer. I mean, he’s done it for a while. He played at Vanderbilt for what, three, four years? So it’s not like he’s never played football before. He’s won big games, he’s been in big environments, so it’s nothing new for him. It’s just that he’s wearing maroon and white this year, so it’s not that different.
