State's Josh Hubbard claims 4th SEC Freshman of the Week award

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard captured his fourth SEC Freshman of the Week award of the 2023-24 campaign announced Monday by the conference office.
For Hubbard, he’s the second State player to capture at least a quartet of SEC Freshman weekly honors. The only other player in program history to accomplish the feat is Jamont Gordon. who also won the award four times during the 2005-06 season.
Hubbard delivered another solid effort with 19 points against Arkansas highlighted by the go-ahead three-pointer inside the game’s final minute which put State up for good. He scored 14 of his points after halftime as State won its third straight game and evened its conference mark at 6-6.
For the season, Hubbard has racked up 375 points, which is fifth-most for a State freshman through 25 games and the most since Rickey Brown (1976-77). He has amassed 21 games in double figures and drained 69 of his 117 field goals from three-point territory.

Hubbard has racked up six outings of 20+ points which tops the SEC and is tied for fourth nationally among true freshmen players according to Elias Sports Bureau.
