Mississippi State’s 2024-25 basketball roster got even more clarity Saturday evening. Sources within the program confirmed that Mississippi State forward and rising junior KeShawn Murphy has removed his name from the transfer portal.

The Ramsay (Ala.) High School product originally entered the transfer portal earlier this month but this weekend, he opted to remove his name and remain a Bulldog.

This past season the 6-foot-10 and 235-pound Murphy played in 21 games and averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds a game. Murphy shot 45.9% from the field, 17.9% from 3 point range and 69.6% from the free throw line. He will have two seasons of remaining eligibility at the college level.

As a redshirt freshman in the 2022-23 season, Murphy averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 rebounds. In that season he shot 41.8% from the floor, 28.1% from 3 point territory and 63.6% from the foul line. Due to injuries, Murphy redshirted in the 2021-22 season after initially signing with former Bulldog head coach Ben Howland.

Earlier Saturday, head coach Chris Jans and his staff added their third transfer addition of the offseason in former Boston College transfer Claudell Harris. The Bulldogs have also added former Penn State transfer guard Kanye Clary and former Miami center Michael Nwoko this offseason.
