2025 Mississippi State signee Lo’Kavion Jackson concluded his prep career last fall with an impressive senior season on both sides of the ball at Mosley (Fla.) High School. But these days, the On3 three-star safety prospect is counting down the days before he officially enrolls at Mississippi State, which will be in June.

As a senior, Jackson had 67 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, including one return for a touchdown. Offensively, Jackson rushed for 772 yards and 18 touchdowns, as well.

“It’s been all good and I am just ready to get to State,” remarked Jackson. “I’ve got to finish up school first but I’ve been working a lot on my technique. That’s been the main focus plus I am improving my tackling form and reading the offensive and wide receiver concepts more. I did run some track this year but I had a hamstring injury and didn’t want to mess it up anymore.”

Since officially signing with Mississippi State last December, Jackson has maintained constant contact with his future Bulldog coaches. The message has been to finish up strong in the class room while advising Jackson on what to expect this summer.

“The coaches just tell me to finish up school and stay prepared,” Jackson explained. “They told me to keep my grades up. They’re also letting me know what I will be working on when I get up there and stuff like that.”

Naturally, Jackson will face a huge increase in competition in the SEC. But he will enter that chapter with a lot of confidence in his abilities.

“It’s going to be a change, for sure,” mentioned Jackson. “But I feel confident in my talent and my ability to compete. That’s all I’ve done so far and I just have to keep doing that in college.”

As noted above, Jackson played a multitude of positions at Mosley High School. For the Bulldogs, that versatility could remain in tact within the defensive backfield.

“We’ve talked about my position and it’s pretty much what I did in high school,” remarked Jackson. “They said when I get up there, they want me to work at multiple safety positions. So we will see how it goes in camp.”

While all of that will be determined in time, Jackson is just ready to put his best foot forward as soon as he steps on campus. Like most incoming freshman, he has a lofty goal for his first year at Mississippi State.

“When I get there, I just want to compete at my best,” Jackson noted. “I want to do all I can to get on the field early. That’s my goal and what I am preparing to do.”
