Mississipp State standout center Madina Okot entering the transfer portal

For the second time this week, Mississippi State’s women’s basketball program suffered a tough blow in the transfer portal. On Friday afternoon, On3 sources confirmed that Bulldog junior center Madina Okot has entered the transfer portal.
Okot becomes the second starter from this past year’s squad to enter the transfer portal this week, joining rising senior Debreasha Powe. Earlier this week the Bulldogs did add former Ole Miss and Auburn transfer Kharyssa Richardson from the portal.
Other Mississippi State players that have entered the transfer portal since the end of the season includes Shakirah Edwards and Anaisha Carriere.

The 6-foot-6 Okot was a major piece of Mississippi State’s success in the 2024-25 season, which saw the Bulldogs post a 22-12 record and a berth in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. Okot started all 34 games and led the Bulldogs in rebounds (9.6 rpg) and blocked shots (38).
The Kenya native ranked third on the team with 11.3 points a game, as well. She shot 64.9% from the field this past season while shooting 62.5% at the foul line.
The basketball transfer portal officially opened on March 31st and will close on April 22nd.
