A couple more pieces of the puzzle were officially announced Thursday regarding Mississippi State’s 2024-25 basketball schedule. The Bulldogs officially released the team’s participation in the 2024 Arizona Tip-Off event in Tempe, Ariz., on November 28-29 along with officially setting the 2024-25 season opener.

Per the university, the Bulldogs open the season against West Georgia at Humphrey Coliseum on November 4th. Previously announced home games for State in the 2024-25 season include Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 12th) and Prairie View A&M (Dec. 8th).

Mississippi State has posted back-to-back 21-win seasons in the first two seasons of the Chris Jans’ era, which also includes back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Last season at Humphrey Coliseum, the Bulldogs had seven sellouts, the most by the program since the 2008-09 campaign.

In the Arizona Tip-Off, the Bulldogs will open the event against UNLV per a previous report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. The other two teams in the field include Butler and Northwestern. Mississippi State defeated Northwestern 66-57 last season behind a 29-point showing by freshman standout Josh Hubbard.

Mississippi State’s last meeting with Butler was in the 2003 NCAA Tournament when Butler pulled off an upset in the opening round of the tournament. State’s last matchup with UNLV was in the 2013-14 season with UNLV winning that home matchup.
