Ace Reese earns SEC Player of the Week

Following a phenomenal weekend at the plate, Ace Reese is the SEC baseball Player of the Week.
Reese is coming off a dominant weekend at the plate after Mississippi State swept Missouri a combined 50-11 in three games. As good as the State offense was as a whole, Reese did as much damage as anyone.
The sophomore from Canton, Texas, was 8-for-12 with 11 runs, six RBI, four home runs, three doubles and five walks. He’s had four-straight games with multiple hits and had three hits in a trio of those contests.
Reese is in the middle of a 21-game hitting streak dating back to the UAB game on April 8. During that stretch, the Houston transfer has 34 runs, 27 RBI, 12 walks, 10 doubles and 10 home runs.
State’s starting third baseman for 51 of the 52 games, Reese is having a phenomenal sophomore campaign. He’s averaging .363 with 73 hits, 56 runs, 21 home runs, 17 doubles and 64 RBI while slugging .771 and he leads the team in all of those categories. In SEC play alone, Reese is batting .402 with 49 hits, 15 home runs and 12 doubles.
