Evan Siary to start Tuesday matchup with Old Dominion in Biloxi

With a busy week of baseball action ahead, Mississippi State is looking to navigate five games in six days.
The Diamond Dawgs head to Biloxi on Tuesday night for the first of two games in the midweek against Old Dominion. Starting in that first game will be junior RHP Evan Siary, the team announced on Monday. It will be Siary’s first start since a game at Ole Miss last April.
Siary will be making his first start of the season but the seventh of his career. Siary is an experienced arm who has pitched in 27 games over the course of his career. He’s 1-5 with a 6.79 ERA but has come out with three scoreless appearances this season.
To this point, Siary has pitched in the last three midweek contests with two outings against Southern Miss and one against Troy. Siary has pitched 3.1 innings with just one hit surrendered, no runs, no walks and four strikeouts.

A native of South Carolina, Siary moved to Starkville for his senior year of high school and played for former MSU standout Thomas Berkery at Starkville Academy. He helped the Volunteers to one of the best seasons in school history as the team’s ace before heading across town to pitch for the Diamond Dawgs.
MSU comes into Tuesday’s game at 11-4 on the season and looking to continue the momentum built over the last week. After losing three of four games the week prior, State was able to go 4-0 with dominant wins over Southern Miss and Queens. The Diamond Dawgs will come back home this weekend and take on No. 11 Texas at Dudy Noble FIeld.
First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6 p.m. at Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi. The second game of the Hancock Whitney Classic will take place on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. against Nicholls. No starter has been announced as of Monday but Jacob Pruitt is a prime candidate after starting each of the last two weeks in the midweek.
Both games can be seen via ESPN+ with a subscription.
