As of Monday morning, MSU’s roster still hasn’t been finalized on the official website and sources indicated that Chris Lemonis is still finalizing the roster himself with cuts still to be made. Likewise, there is no announced rotation to this point, and it usually won’t be until the middle of the week.
It’s an important season for Lemonis and his team as the Diamond Dawgs look to get back to their winning ways. After a National Championship run in 2021, Lemonis’ squad put up back-to-back losing seasons in SEC play and missed on SEC and NCAA Tournament both years.
The team returns veteran junior slugger Hunter Hines at first base and All-American outfielder Dakota Jordan for his sophomore season. The pitching staff has several important arms returning from injury in Stone Simmons, Brooks Auger and Pico Kohn and a new pitching coach in Justin Parker to lead the team.
