Fall ball practices haven’t yet begun for Mississippi State, but the Diamond Dawgs can start prepping for their 2025 season.

The league office announced the 2025 SEC baseball slate on Thursday afternoon as the Bulldogs will have 10 challenges on the way. This year’s schedule avoids playing traditional league powers like National Champion Tennessee, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, but the Diamond Dawgs still have an exciting slate on the way.

MSU will play seven SEC squads that made the NCAA Tournament last year. Two of those are newcomers to the league as Texas and Oklahoma add even more competition to the league.

The Longhorns will come to Dudy Noble Field to start the SEC slate on March 14-16 as Jim Schlossnagle begins his journey with Texas. Schlossnagle led Texas A&M to the national championship series before falling to the Volunteers of Tennessee. The coach left for rival Texas the next day.

Oklahoma will host the Diamond Dawgs the next weekend as State travels to a program that played in its own national championship series in 2022 against Ole Miss. The 2023 National Champions of LSU will play host to the Diamond Dawgs in week three on March 28-30. State is looking to win three-straight series against LSU since 1988-90.

State will also play home series against South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky and Ole Miss while going on the road to Alabama, Auburn and Missouri this season.

The rest of the schedule was also set on Thursday as State announced the non-conference schedule as well.
