Mississippi State saw some action pick up again in the baseball transfer portal on Monday morning with the addition of USC Upstate two-way standout Noah Sullivan.

A former Freshman All-American, the 6’1, 225-pound Sullivan put together three strong seasons with Upstate. His first year on campus, he set the scene with his .303 batting average, 67 hits, nine doubles, three home runs and 42 RBI. Sullivan also pitched and started in five games with a 6-0 record and 3.31 ERA in 32.2 innings. He struck out 26 batters and walked 11.

In 2023, Sullivan didn’t spend as much time on the mound with just 12.1 innings but he didn’t surrender a run and struck out 16. At the plate, he played in 18 games due to injury and had a .311 batting average.

2024 was Sullivan’s best season as he hit .324 with 66 hits, eight doubles and 17 home runs while driving in 56 RBI. He had a slugging % of .613 and struck out just 31 times in 57 games. He got back on the mound and threw in 14 games with 12 starts. Sullivan had a 4.88 ERA in 75.2 innings and struck out 51 batters with 22 walks.

After the season, Sulivan was named First-Team All-Big South as a Utility player and was Second-Team as a starting pitcher. He had 14 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI games while going on a 10-game hitting streak and 24-game reached base streak.

At MSU, Sullivan is expected to compete at first base and is also going to be an option on the mound as well. He brings to Starkville 152 career hits, 20 doubles, 22 home runs and 113 RBI while having a strikeout rate around 12%.

He is the third member of the transfer portal class for Chris Lemonis as he joins North Alabama 3B Gehrig Frei and The Citadel MIF Sawyer Reeves.
