Mississippi State basketball announces non-conference matchups and other schedule notes

Mississippi State just finished wrapping up the 2024-25 season last month. But the makings of the 2025-26 non-conference schedule for the Bulldogs is already underway.
Per a school announcement on Thursday, Mississippi State will host Memphis on December 20th at Humphrey Coliseum to conclude the last of a two-game series. The Bulldogs routed Memphis this past season, 79-66, at the FedEx Forum and it marked the program’s largest road margin of victory over a ranked opponent in program history.
Also announced on Thursday, Mississippi State will play in the 2025 Hall of Fame Classic on November 20-21 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. Other teams in the event include Kansas State, Nebraska and New Mexico. The tournament matchups, games times and TV broadcast information will be released at a later date.
Other non-conference outings for the 2025-26 season include a home game against SMU along with a matchup with Utah at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Bulldogs will also compete in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 2nd or Dec. 3rd, and that is expected to be a road game, as well.

Mississippi State finished 21-13 this past season, including an 8-10 mark inside the SEC. The Bulldogs advanced to the program’s third straight NCAA Tournament under head coach Chris Jans and dropped a 75-72 decision to Baylor in the first round. During last season, the Bulldogs posted a 13-3 non-conference record, which included a 6-0 record at home, 2-0 mark on the road and a 5-3 record in neutral site non-conference games.
With at least 21 victories in the past three seasons, Jans is one of four head coaches in SEC history to total at least 21 victories and advance to the NCAA Tournament in each of his first three campaigns.
