For the second time this season, Mississippi State is back in the national rankings. After dropping out last week, the Bulldogs are back in the Associated Press Top 25 at No. 25.

Mississippi State made its season debut in the Associated Press Top 25 two weeks ago at No. 25. But a loss to Butler – currently State’s lone loss – dropped the Bulldogs (8-1) out of the rankings last week.

This past week saw Mississippi State blow out then No. 18 Pittsburgh, 90-57, before defeated Prairie View on Sunday. The win over Pittsburgh was State’s largest margin of victory over a ranked team in school history and it also knocked Pittsburgh out of this week’s Associated Press Top 25.

Mississippi State’s next outing is Saturday in Tupelo when the Bulldogs face McNeese State of the Southland Conference. McNeese State was an NCAA Tournament participant last year and the Cowboys are currently 5-4 this season.

Once again, the SEC dominated the Associated Press Top 25 and that includes a new top-ranked team in Tennessee. Auburn is ranked No. 2 this week followed by Kentucky at No. 5, Alabama at No. 7 and Florida at No. 9. Other SEC teams in the Top 25 include Oklahoma at No. 13, Texas A&M at No. 17 and Ole Miss at No. 19.
