Mississippi State drops in national rankings
After a 1-1 week in SEC action, Mississippi State (14-2) dropped in the national rankings on Monday. In the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Bulldogs dropped one spot from last week and are now ranked No. 15 in the nation.
In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs took a bigger tumble and dropped to No. 18 after being ranked No. 13 last week.
Mississippi State, 2-1 in the SEC, won at Vanderbilt last week, 76-64, before losing a tough 95-90 decision to Kentucky at Humphrey Coliseum.
Once again, the SEC dominated the Associated Top 25 poll with nine conference teams in the AP Top 25, including five in the Top 10. Auburn moved to the No. 1 spot followed by Alabama at No. 4, Florida at No. 5, Tennessee at No. 6 and Kentucky at No. 8.

Texas A&M fell to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 while Ole Miss and Georgia came in at No. 21 and No. 23, respectively.
The road gets no easier for Mississippi State this week. The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. tipoff at top-ranked Auburn before hosting rival Ole Miss this coming Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum.
