On Tuesday afternoon Mississippi State’s 2024-25 basketball schedule took another step towards being complete. The SEC announced the dates of each team’s conference slate with times and TV schedule to be announced later in the fall.

The Bulldogs open their SEC schedule with a home game against South Carolina on Jan. 4th while opening their SEC road schedule at Vanderbilt, either on Jan. 7th or Jan. 8th. Mississippi State will host Kentucky on Jan. 11th before traveling to face Auburn either on Jan. 14th or Jan. 15th.

Also in January, the Bulldogs host Ole Miss on Jan. 21st and will also host Alabama either on Jan. 28th or Jan. 29th. State also has January road trips to Tennessee on Jan. 21st and to South Carolina on Jan. 25th.

In the month of February, the Bulldogs will host Missouri on Feb. 1st, Florida on Feb. 11 or Feb. 12th along with Texas A&M on Feb. 18th or Feb. 19th. Also in February, State will travel to Georgia on Feb. 8th, to Ole Miss on Feb. 15th, to Oklahoma on Feb. 22 and to Alabama on Feb. 25th or Feb. 26th.

Then in March to wrap up the SEC schedule, State will host LSU on March 1st, host Texas on March 4th or March 5th, and then travel to Arkansas on March 8th in the regular-season finale.

Mississippi State’s non-conference schedule features road trips to Memphis and SMU along with a home battle against Pittsburgh in the debut of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The Bulldogs will also face another NCAA Tournament team from a year ago in McNeese State and that game is slated to be held in Tupelo. The Bulldogs will also meet Central Michigan in Jackson on December 17th.

From a tournament standpoint in the non-conference schedule, State will face UNLV in an opening-round game in the Arizona Tip-Off in Tempe, Arizona, on November 28th. The Bulldogs will then face either Butler or Northwestern the following night. Under head coach Chris Jans, State has won non-conference tournament championships in the two previous seasons.

Regarding the rest of the 2024-25 schedule, the Bulldogs are still looking to add two more games to the non-conference slate. That includes a possible neutral matchup with a Power 5 team along with another possible home game at Humphrey Coliseum.
