The Mississippi State Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Florida Gators, 69-66, on a three-point buzzer beater.
State trailed by six at the half but gained the lead in the third quarter after going on a 16-3 run in the third quarter and gained a lead as large as nine. The Gators ended the game making their last four shots to overcome the deficit.
The Bulldogs’ three-point shooting stood out on Sunday afternoon, as they shot 45 percent from beyond the arc. Denim DeShields led the way for the Bulldog offense, as she earned a season-high 15 points on 4-6 shooting from distance, along with two assists.

Jerkaila Jordan collected 12 points on 50 percent shooting, including a pair of triples on three attempts. Debreasha Powe knocked down a triage of triples at a 50 percent rate and finished with 11 points. Chandler Prater scored 10 points, making her first five shots of the afternoon.
The Bulldogs get a chance to regroup this week, as their next contest is a week from today inside Humphrey Coliseum against the Texas A&M Aggies. Tipoff for the contest is set for 2 p.m. on SECN+.
