Mississippi State's Jaden Crumedy set for 6th Egg Bowl
Growing up in the Magnolia State, Mississippi State senior defensive lineman Jaden Crumedy grew up watching previous Egg Bowl matchups with rival Ole Miss. He has also experienced that rivalry on the field numerous times.
On Thursday Crumedy will play in his sixth Egg Bowl and talked of Thursday’s matchup after practice earlier this week:
Q: Have you felt extra energy in practice this week with the players considering what is at stake this Thursday?
Crumedy: Yeah I feel like everybody is locked in. Everybody is trying to be mentally prepared for this game and play hard. Everybody is bringing everybody along and make sure everyone is ready for this game.
Q: How has the transition been with Zach Arnett being let go and Greg Knox taking over?
Crumedy: Everybody just came together, especially in practice, and everybody is handling their job and not paying attention to outside things. We have a whole family here and we’re going with the flow, knowing what we have to do preparing for this next game that we have to play. Everybody is taking it well and we are continuing to grind and compete together and just feed off of that.
Q: You grew up in this state. What does the Egg Bowl mean to you?
Crumedy: To me it just means I got to go out there and give it my all. I know everybody on the team is going to give it their all. We have to be mentally prepared for this game. It does mean a lot to me because I am from Mississippi.

Q: What have you seen on film with Ole Miss’ offensive line?
Crumedy: They like to go fast so we have to be ready and prepared for that. It is just a different aspect and we have to be ready for that. We will be good.
Q: How do you offset that tempo that Ole Miss uses?
Crumedy: Just know the calls we have, be prepared and be able to line up quicker. Just be ready for anything they may throw at us.
Q: Has it hit you yet that you have one game left, possibly two games left?
Crumedy: Yeah and it has hit me all season, really. I have been preparing for it every game and I have to continue to keep it going and I know that God has a plan.
