(Caitie McMekin/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images) Mississippi State head coach Chris Jans yells to Mississippi State's Josh Hubbard (12) during a men’s college basketball game between Tennessee and Mississippi State at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.

Back-to-back top 20 wins has Mississippi State back on track for a strong seed in the NCAA Tournament and to push above the middle pack of the SEC, but more work is there to be done.

State knocked off No. 19 Ole Miss in Oxford last Saturday and followed that up with its best win of the season against No. 7 Texas A&M at home on Tuesday night. The wins have gotten the Bulldogs back into the five seed projections by several brackets and even more movement up could come the Bulldogs’ way if they continue to win.

With that said, this Saturday’s contest at Oklahoma can’t be a step backwards for State. The Sooners are falling towards the cellar of the league and have lost five-straight games.

Who: No. 21 Mississippi State Bulldogs (19-7, 7-6 SEC) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (16-10, 3-10 SEC)

When: Saturday, February 21, Noon CT
